About Petit Futé
Founded in 1976, Petit Futé is one of France’s best-known independent travel and leisure media brands. Today, it covers more than 800 destinations and attracts over 65 million visits per year.
With a strong editorial identity and a highly valuable audience, Petit Futé has built its digital strategy around a simple principle: monetization growth should never come at the expense of user experience.

The Challenge – Continuing to Drive Growth Five Years Into the Partnership
When Petit Futé first partnered with Opti Digital in 2021, the objective was to gain greater visibility and control over its advertising inventory while strengthening the efficiency of its monetization strategy.
Five years later, the challenge had evolved. Search traffic was under significant pressure across the publishing industry: Google referrals to media sites fell by 33% globally between November 2024 and November 2025. At the same time, Petit Futé was already operating a mature and highly optimized monetization setup, leaving fewer obvious levers to activate.
The challenge was therefore to continue identifying new sources of growth from an already high-performing inventory, without compromising direct-sales priorities, site performance, or user experience.
The Solution – A Monetization Strategy Driving 33% Growth in 2026
The impact was particularly visible during Petit Futé’s key May–August 2026 period. Compared with the same period in 2025, traffic increased by 10%, while total net advertising revenue grew by 33%.
Programmatic net revenue alone increased by 14%, translating into a 3.2% YoY increase in programmatic Page RPM. This performance was achieved in the context of an evolving traffic mix, including a lower contribution from Search.
Opti Digital supports the publisher monetization strategy via Ad Manager Hub by ensuring direct and programmatic campaigns work together effectively, while continuously identifying new opportunities across inventory, demand, formats, and yield through Ad Manager Hub.
Pillar 1 — Building a Faster, Higher-Performing Monetization Foundation
Ad Manager Hub is built on an ultra-light monetization infrastructure designed to reduce latency, accelerate ad delivery, and protect site performance.
The share of ad server calls delivered in under two seconds reaches 55%, compared with 13% for standard ad stacks. At the same time, calls taking more than four seconds account for just 22%, versus 55% under standard market conditions.

This x4 faster ad delivery benefits both programmatic and direct campaigns: impressions have a greater opportunity to render while users are still engaged, supporting stronger ad viewability and greater impression delivery.
For Petit Futé, this technical foundation plays a central role in ad stack optimization, helping the team grow revenue while preserving site speed, layout stability, and user experience.
Pillar 2 — Making Every Ad Opportunity Work Harder
Rather than simply increasing ad density, Opti Digital focused on improving the value generated by Petit Futé’s existing inventory.
Premium experiences including Sticky Overlay, Flying Carpet, and House Reads, with configurations adapted by audience segment and market, were selectively tested or deployed. Together, these new monetization levers accounted for approximately 30% of programmatic revenue during the period.
This approach helped Petit Futé strengthen programmatic yield by making more value from existing inventory.
Pillar 3 — Turning Data Into New Revenue Opportunities
Data has been central to the partnership from the beginning.
Petit Futé and Opti Digital use Insights Hub as part of a continuous test-and-learn approach, analyzing performance at page and format level to determine where specific ad experiences should be activated, adjusted, or deliberately disabled.
The teams also test new demand partners and monitor KPIs such as CTR to ensure that revenue growth remains aligned with user engagement objectives.

More Than Technology – Five Years of Continuous Optimization
Since 2021, Petit Futé and Opti Digital have continuously evolved the monetization strategy in response to performance, user behavior, and changes in the market.
Opti Digital supports Petit Futé’s teams across inventory strategy, formats, demand partners, and new opportunities to test, helping the publisher continue identifying new growth levers despite the maturity of its monetization setup.
This ongoing collaboration has enabled Petit Futé to move from addressing its initial monetization challenges in 2021 to continuously uncovering new sources of incremental value five years later.
